There is a ball and you shall go to it, courtesy of Northern Ballet who are bringing their much-acclaimed version of ‘Cinderella’ to the Theatre Royal in November.

Of course, many theatres in the UK will be staging their own knockabout versions of ‘Cinderella’ over the coming months, but none of them will be as classy and downright dazzling as Northern Ballet’s take on the classic tale. Their reimagining of the story is set in a winter wonderland and lets families live every moment of Cinderella’s story from heartbreak to joy. In this adaptation of the rags-to-riches tale, Cinders is whisked away from her wicked stepmother to the glistening lake of ice where she first meets her prince. Needless to say Northern Ballet’s remarkable dancers coat the whole production in their signature magic for this ultimate in feel-good fairytales. And not once will you be yelled at by a man wearing a comedy wig and bloomers.

Northern Ballet’s Cinderella, Tuesday 12-Saturday 16 November, Theatre Royal, Newcastle, 7.30pm (mats 2pm Thurs and 2.30pm Sat), from £14.50. theatreroyal.co.uk
