dakotas19.jpg The decade that keeps on giving

That decade in full: the 1960s. And some of the swingingest bands of that era are part of the Sensational 60s Experience, which is coming to the Playhouse in Whitley Bay this October.

The Sensational 60s Experience has been a phenomenon that has been on the road for ten years now and for this anniversary show they’re pulling out all the stops for a three-hour spectacular. It stars Mike Pender (the original golden voiced singer with The Searchers who flashlit the charts with singles such as ‘Needles and Pins’ and ‘Don’t Throw Your Love Away’), The Trems (featuring all four original members of The Tremeloes famed for hits such as ‘Silence Is Golden’ and ‘Twist and Shout’), The Fortunes (‘Here It Comes Again’, ‘Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling’), The Swinging Blues Jeans (‘Hippy Hippy Shake’, ‘You’re No Good’) and The Dakotas (pictured - who played a huge role in the British Invasion of the US with tracks such as ‘Do You Want To Know A Secret’ and ‘Little Children’). Gonna be good? Gonna be sensational.
