‘Make Print Great Again’ brings together eight artists, each of whom has an individual approach to the nature, techniques and possibilities of printmaking.

All of the artists in this exhibition are based in the north-east and demonstrate just how vibrant the printmaking scene is in the region. They include Johnnyx, who uses the ephemera of popular culture to comment on everything from the environment to love. Among the other artists taking part that we love are Theresa Easton who enjoys a collaborative approach to making artwork. Printmaking provides a platform for her interpretation of social history and cultural commentary. Erika Servin’s work draws upon the historic relationship between Mexican politics and popular street posters, while Jade Sweeting is interested in archives and recycling found imagery, where process is a main element, alongside analogue techniques, from darkroom to printmaking. Other artists taking part include Alfons Bytautas, grafik 2.1, George William Stewart and Lee Turner.
