twisthelix18.jpg Let’s Twist Helix again

One of the region’s most feted bands are set for their biggest headline show to date when they play Stockton’s iconic Georgian Theatre in September.

Twist Helix shifted deftly through the gears and moved into the fast lane when they released their magnificent ‘Ouseburn’ album last year. It’s a release that casts an eye over the north – taking in everything from renewal to community – and also a boundary-straddling showcase for their anthemic electro sound that is given extra heft by dint of some strident goth-pop stylings. Their songs are constructed from great slabs of light and shade and in Bea Garcia they have a vocalist who instantly commands your attention. The band are a real knockout in the live arena (where these songs demand to be heard) and have toured the UK and across Spain. They opened the main stage at the last Stockton Calling and – get this! – were also asked along to support Take That at their big Riverside Stadium gig earlier this year. If you’ve not yet had the pleasure then this is the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself.
