ABBA have reformed just so they can play the Break The Silence festival in Hebburn this August along with a host of other top acts. Imagine! (Legal note: If ABBA can’t make it then Planet Abba will step in. They’re even better than the real thing.)

Planet Abba are regarded by the great and the good as the UK’s leading ABBA tribute act with a professionally choreographed stage show, costume changes and, of course, one of the best back catalogues of any band ever. And they’re just one of the acts playing this year’s Break The Silence event. Elsewhere you will be able to check out Mars Live, which features the incredibly talented Glenn Owen who looks, sounds and moves just like Bruno Mars, and Eddy Popescu, one of Europe’s leading Elvis tribute acts. The festival isn’t just about tribute acts however. You’ll also be able to see Three Odd Shoes, This Ground Moves, Cherry B and Peesh, Joan Hewitt and many more besides. There will also be family activities, kids rides, face-painting, a bar, street food, specialist coffees and plenty of stalls. One of the aims of the festival is to raise awareness around the subject of stigma and taboos in mental health issues and you can read more about this, and get full details on the festival, from the website, below.

Break The Silence, Saturday 17 August, Quarry Stables Fields, Wardley Lane, Hebburn. 12 noon-11pm, £10 (£5 children, under 5s free). breakthesilencefestival.co.uk
