smithfest19.jpg SmithFest! This weekend!

This year’s SmithFest in Hartlepool is an extra special one because it’s the fifth anniversary of the event and it will now take place across two days at three different venues.

If you’ve not been to SmithFest before (then where have you been, it’s always superb) then you should know that it is a musical festival dedicated to the memory of local musician and artist Robert Smith. This year it’s taking place at the Nursery Inn on Friday night (which will host the Homecoming Stage) and on the Saturday at the Corporation Club (which will host the Legends Stage) and Hops and Cheese (All Stars Stage). They always attract the cream of local acts and among the big hitters playing this year will be The White Negroes, Giraffes, Pek & Wanley, Marie Marx, Charlotte Grayson (pictured), Rise To Rebellion, Lee Etherington, Monkey Moonshine Band, Danny Thomas and plenty more besides. More details from their Facebook page, below.
