woodstock19.jpg Woodstock comes to Hexham

The Forum Cinema are marking the 50th anniversary of Woodstock by throwing a party (and holding a screening).

And the screening – of course – will be the groundbreaking 1970 film ‘Woodstock’. In this classic documentary the festival is chronicled in unflinching detail, from the event’s inception all the way through to the unexpected air-delivery of food and medical supplies by the National Guard. The film contains iconic performances from the likes of The Who, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, as well as interviews with artists and candid footage of fans. And in the café/bar before the film there will be themed drinks, music and a fancy-dress competition, so dig out your flares, best tie-dye t-shirt and daisy flower crown and you might walk off with a prize.
