rainforest19.jpg Summer showers? Despatched!

Who do you turn to when you want a nice jacket that’s going to keep you dry when those summer clouds burst? Napapijri, that’s who.

I’ve got a love/hate relationship with the summer months. I hate the fact that Wimbledon replaces ‘Pointless’ on the BBC schedules (how can anyone prefer cross-court winners and outrageous drop-shots to questions about the periodic table and US states?), but then again I love messing about on the rowing boats in South Shields’ Marine Park. Another reason I hate the summer is that it’s quite often too hot to wear a coat and I DO love a nice coat. When it’s a bit windy out, though, and it looks like rain, I don’t take too much persuading to pull on a nice anorak and this summer I’ve been stepping out in my Rainforest Jacket from Napapijri. As its name suggests it’s waterproofed to within an inch of its life and comes complete with, and I quote, “critically taped seams and advanced hood regulation”. Critically taped seams AND advanced hood regulation! It’s true! And – get this! – it’s also got a large front pocket that’s ideal for storing all your essentials. I keep a periodic table in mine. I wonder what you’ll shove in yours…
