Jak Aggas is one of the DJs playing a new trance night in Sunderland that everyone is calling Transonic.

Jak Aggas is a local lad (born and raised in South Shields) and he was first bitten by the trance bug when he was exposed to the classic Brainbug single ‘Nightmare’ all the way back in 1997. Since then he has went on to become a much sought after DJ on the scene and testament to the wide range of emotion it’s possible to communicate through the medium of trance. He has released some top-drawer singles of his own such as ‘ReAnimator’ and ‘Strangers Like Me’ which demonstrate his ability to fuse the driving fervour of tech trance with euphoric, uplifting melodies. This new night should be a real corker as also on the bill is Richard Tulip, another local lad and very much a big cheese among trance fans.

Transonic, Friday 9 August, Club Upside Down, Vine Place, Sunderland, 10pm-5.30am, £6. skiddle.com
