Laughs, cameras, action!
The Stand Comedy Club, Bar & Kitchen have some fabulous regular nights running each month all of which are well worthy of your attention. A big favourite is John Scott’s ‘Faking The News’, a satirical comedy panel show that tears into the great and so called good every month including Trump, Brexit, sundry royals and Kanye West. Red Raw is also great value each Wednesday. This is a showcase for the region’s newest comedians (often of a very high standard) and it’s only three quid to get in. Another monthly night is ‘Matt & Hal’s Gag Reels’. This is another panel show with a revolving line-up (ie different guests each month – they don’t spin around on stage) that is chockfull of ridiculous games and jokes aplenty. It’s not based on movie trivia. Instead the teams battle it out to be the best at having nothing (and everything) to do with movies. In short: I can’t properly explain it. It’s an experience you need to submit yourself to.
