25 years of Durham Brewery
The magnificent Durham Brewery are celebrating 25 years of providing us with some of the finest booze to come out of the north-east with a special festival in early August.
Beer is special. I know it, you know it and Durham Brewery certainly know it. For them their cask, keg and bottle-conditioned beer is a real art with the family owned brewery concentrating on quality over quantity. They are true masters of their craft – from pale ale to dark stout, fruit beer to Bavarian lagerbier – and they’re celebrating their 25th anniversary in fine style by throwing a real party. They will have a multitude of beer styles for you to try with at least 12 of their beers on sale across cask and keg on two bars. On the food front they’ll have the redoubtable Meat Stack gourmet burgers doing their thing, alongside other local food producers. Throughout the day there will also be live music from Tony Bengtsson and James Hedley, plus a likely guest appearance from Marty Craggs (of Lindisfarne). Advance tickets are £10 and this includes a pint glass and three half-pint tokens.
