Food & Drink Reviews
Booze, bands & Gosforth
First up, I think it’s only right we DO mention the quality of beer that fans can look forward to over this weekend, because they are going to have thirty taps of the best local and national stuff to try from the likes of Almasty, Cloudwater, Northern Alchemy, Magic Rock, North Brewing Co, Wild Beer, Summer Wine Brewery and many more besides. But this festival is about so much more. On the music front they have the brilliant The Cornshed Sisters (pictured) and their folky harmonious pop, along with one of the region’s best singer/songwriters in James Leonard Hewitson (see page 24 for more on this talented lad). They also have Worry Party, Phil Davids & The Good Times Band, Shipcote & Friends, Michael Littlefield and Mush. Each day of the festival will also see two street food vendors serving up the good stuff including Scream for Pizza, Goodtimes Tacos, Cubanos and Shanty Town. There will also be family stuff to do and the return of the retro gaming consoles. Oh, and it’s free (FREE!) to get in. Sold!
