feltonbury19.jpg Music! Art! Feltonbury!

Feltonbury is the annual music and art festival held in the beautiful Northumbrian village of Felton and this year’s event is packing real treats.

Situated 24 miles from Newcastle Felton is the beautiful village that has carved out a real arty niche for itself, especially when Feltonbury rolls round. This year they will have live music – including a Battle of the Bands event – at a plethora of venues from the village hall to the bridge (which, yep, is an actual bridge). Genres covered will include everything from jazz to folk, pop to rock. There will also be other activities such as yoga and poetry readings. And, once again, the hugely successful art trail will run alongside the music. Several talented artists and makers will be opening their homes throughout the village to show their work, as well as all the artists who have studios at Gallery 45 (11am-5pm). The gallery will also have work by members of Felton Art Group, and other visiting artists. It promises to be a day of aural and visual splendour and, unlike its near namesake Glastonbury, there won’t be queues or mud. (Although there will be the Stag Head beer tent and Prosecco Van – hooray!)
