The ‘Crossing The Tees’ book festival is taking over Tees Valley for a couple of weeks this June with a plethora of top authors taking part.

And among the top authors I’m most looking forward to seeing this year is LJ Ross who is responsible for the international #1 best-selling mystery series featuring DCI Ryan. Crime fans should also know that Stephen Booth will be chatting about the latest bestseller in his award-winning Ben Cooper and Diane Fry series. There will also be a suspense and intrigue night with psychological thriller authors Lisa Jewell and T.J. Stimson; an evening with ‘Scandibrit’ crime writer Quentin Bates; a thrilling evening with C.L. Taylor and C.J. Tudor; and a murder mystery night written by Ann ‘Vera’ Cleeves (can you work out whodunit?). Their will also be the fabulous Kate Fox (pictured) with her ‘Where There’s Muck There’s Bras’ show (uncovering the hidden histories of the North’s talented women); ‘Door-to-Door Poetry (The Show)’ with Rowan McCabe; ‘Tudor Costumes’ with Julia Soares-McCormick; and an evening with author and archaeologist Nicola Ford. The programme also includes workshops and masterclasses, music, and a special version of The Electric Kool-Aid Cabaret, Middlesbrough’s legendary long-running spoken word and cabaret night. We’re just giving you a taster of everything that is happening this year, so be sure to check the website below for the full programme.
