Food & Drink Reviews

tynebankmay19.jpg All this and loads more

The Tyne Bank Brewery Tap on Walker Road in Newcastle is one of our very favourite places to have a drink, but are they content just to bang out some of the finest beers you’ll find anywhere in the north-east? Are they nelly.

Silver Dollar is my favourite ale at Tyne Bank Brewery. No, it’s Northern Porter. Actually, sometimes it’s Monument (that copper coloured bitter – with hints of biscuit and caramel – is surely the quintessential English bitter for the summer months). But this brewery and tap house has always been about so much more than dishing out the top of the hops. They also hold artisan markets, stage live music events, stick cool DJs on, hold buskers evenings, baby socials, Britpop nights, henna parlours, creative socials and much more. Keep up to date with everything they’ve got coming up over these long summer months by visiting the websites, below. (I’ve changed my mind: their West Coast IPA is my current fave. Those grapefruit and floral aromas – Mmm…)
