And among that interesting work are pieces from Beth Richardson (pictured) who presents us with everyday items that have been positioned in large empty spaces. The Biscuit Factory have also devoted a big chunk of space to Northumberland-based portrait artist Peter Hallam, whose new collection features a variety of unique characters, each with their own story to tell, including an Argentinian dancer, a science fiction girl and The Falconer – all people Hallam has met in real life. Other highlights include atmospheric etchings from Durham-based printmaker Anja Percival and dramatic, abstracted landscapes from David Scott Moore. Add in prints, sculpture, glass and ceramics and you’ve got a show simply bursting with goodies.
Spring exhibition, until 26 May, Biscuit Factory, Stoddart Street, Newcastle. thebiscuitfactory.com
