The Make & Mend Market celebrated their 10th birthday last year but they’re not resting on their laurels in 2019 with a number of events set to run at the Grainger Market in Newcastle.

The Grainger Market is wonderful enough at the best of times. As well as the usual fruiterers etc there is also a plethora of great independents selling everything from vintage fashion to cakes andan array of dinky cafes and restaurants running the gamut from Spanish tapas to French crêpes. And then there is the Make & Mend Market. It was inspired by the DIY culture around zines, print making and small press comics and at their markets you can pick up beautiful art books, photocopied publications and just about everything else in between. And alongside their market they also run art activities for all ages and abilities. (Note: If you make art, comics, books or zines, and want to get involved, get in touch with them through the contact details below.)
