CalAcordP287.jpg Jaws: Memories from Martha’s Vineyard (expanded edition)

Jaws is widely regarded as the first ‘blockbuster’ but it’s unlikely that such a film would be made today featuring, as it does, three middle aged leads who spend a lot of time simply sitting around talking. It also has a coherent plot that seems to be a conceit too far for pictures such as “The Dark Knight Rises” and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. No matter: this new book is a fan’s dream, featuring an exhaustive account of the film’s gestation (longer than a great white’s), with a plethora of information provided not only by the cast and crew, but also the residents of Martha’s Vineyard where it was filmed. Well written throughout and packed with anecdotes, stories and heaps upon heaps of never before published photographs, this is a real treat and something for fans of the film to really sink their gnashers into.
