Forgive and forget. Easy? Not for many of us. Carrying resentment, anger and shame can be so normal we don’t notice how the lack of forgiving darkens our outlook. Sound, moving image, and installation guide visitors on an exploration of the process and theme of forgiveness. In her research, Carrie Fertig has engaged with diverse groups and collected their stories that sometimes end with forgiveness and sometimes don’t. These collected personal stories form parts of interactive artworks. Visitors are invited to share their stories to become part of the exhibition, which will continue to change and evolve, based on visitors interaction. Fertig works in film, sound, performance, installation and sculpture, often incorporating flameworked glass.
