Detail

Located within the walled garden and alongside the avenue, Andrew has created a series of large vessels that symbolise confinement desperate bids for freedom and the outpourings of anger and loss. Using the vessel form as a metaphor for the relationship between Mary Eleanor and Andrew "Stoney", and each urn aims to be a creative response to different aspects of Mary Eleanor's experiences. Andrew has inscribed extracts from contemporary 18th century texts into the surface of the clay.
