Celebrating the coal mining legacy with song and music. Central to the evening is a showing of the multi-award winning film Black Snow (duration 25 min) dealing with legacy of Britain’s biggest ever mining disaster, and how the community in Barnsley absorbs that heritage into their lives today. Plus director Q&A. The evening will be bookended by songs and stories of the mining life from Radio 2 Folk Award Nominee Jed Grimes, with origins from across the old mining regions of Britain.
