Bona fide pop entity Jess Glynne is one of the best stars to come out of the UK in recent years and she’ll be thrilling the north-east with all of her chart-toppers when she plays the Darlington Arena in early August.

Whether she’s setting the dancefloor on fire with banger after banger, or tugging at heartstrings with sky-scraping ballads, or hitting the sweet spot that exists between your out and out banger and your sky-scraping ballad (with added yodelling) Jess Glynne has got it covered. She has been at the top of the UK charts on no less than seven occasions (SEVEN!) with dance/pop classics such as ‘Rather Be’ (which is still my go-to getting ready to go out song), ‘My Love’ and ‘These Days’ and has collaborated with some of the biggest names around including Clean Bandit, Route 94 and Rudimental. Her two solo albums ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ and last year’s ‘Always In Between’ were both number one smashes and contained hits such as ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ and ‘I’ll Be There’ (they all topped the charts too). She recently told us: “See you in Darlington. Big love! Can’t Wait!’ which bodes well. Get ready for thrills.
