dualers19.jpg Summer starts here

By any estimation The Dualers are the UK’s finest ska and reggae band and they’ll be bringing their biggest tunes when they visit the Boiler Shop for two (TWO!) dates in June.

They’ve got albums – of course they’ve got albums – and they’ve had chart success too (their single ‘Kiss on the Lips’ reached the top 20 despite no industry backing whatsoever) but if you really want to experience The Dualers then you NEED to see them play live. They are absolutely blistering and this surely accounted for their record-breaking nine shows at the Indigo at the O2 in their hometown of London, all of which completely sold out. Their infectious Jamaican rhythm and blues sound has seen them in big demand around the world where they have supported the likes of The Skatalites, Toots and the Maytals, Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff and Madness. Their soulful vocal harmonies have been described as having echoes of Bob Marley and Sam Cooke, and you can hear just why these compliments are right on the money when they visit Newcastle this summer.

The Dualers, Friday 21 June and Saturday 22 June, Boiler Shop, South Street, Newcastle, 7pm, £15. boilershop.net
