letsrockne19.jpg Party like it’s 1985!

Let’s Rock The North East is a new festival coming to Herrington Country Park in Sunderland and features the kind of 1980s acts who really know how to light the party touch-paper.

Hang on! Is there anyone from the 1980s this festival hasn’t roped in for their line-up? Marc Almond (pictured), Status Quo, Shalamar, Jason Donovan, T’Pau, Limahl (still spunkily sporting his 1982 do), Chesney Hawkes (wonder which song he’ll sing?), Cutting Crew, Belouis Some, and my particular favourite, Betty Boo (who I’ve no doubt will be “doing the do”). There will also be Tom Bailey from the Thompson Twins, Kim Appleby from Mel & Kim, From The Jam (featuring all the original Jam line-up apart from someone called Paul Weller), Jennie Matthias from The Belle Stars and Black Lace’s Conga Party (nurse! The screens!). You are allowed to bring your own picnic into the main arena, but if you’d prefer, they will also have a wide variety of catering on offer inside (you can’t bring in booze, but a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available from the bars). Check out the full line-up from their website, below.

Let’s Rock North East, Saturday 8 June, Herrington Country Park, Sunderland. Tickets from £36 (VIP tickets also available which give you access to the Club Tropicana area and the posh loos). letsrockthenortheast.com
