Style kittens are flocking to ‘Putting on the Ritz!’ at Bailiffgate Museum, which takes visitors through 100 years of fashion.

From Chanel’s Little Black Dress to the exuberant excesses of Vivienne Westwood, this exhibition is a visual feast which has already proved a big hit with fashionistas. Beginning with 1920s flappers, taking a quick step through the romance and heartbreak of World War 2, and with a flourish of the risk-taking 60s and 70s, visitors will see key pieces from Prada, Balenciaga, McQueen, Galliano and many more internationally renowned designers. Hilary Waugh, who was a key figure in putting the exhibition together, said: “We have been working on this exhibition for a year and have collected some beautiful clothes and accessories.” The gallery has put on some amazing exhibitions over the last few years – including their fabulous Harry Potter show in 2018 – but surely none have looked quite as stylish as this one.
