The Jazz Café in Newcastle has upped sticks for a larger venue inside the Newcastle Arts Centre. What hasn’t changed is the superb programming.

After running the Jazz Café on Pink Lane for five superb years, Newcastle Arts Centre are now bringing things more in-house by continuing their programming at the Black Swan venue, within the centre, which has the benefit of a larger capacity. In February one of the stand-out shows will come from Swing Manouche featuring the esteemed talents of Daniel John Martin (pictured). A truly unique and charismatic performer Daniel John Martin is one of the most talented and sought after violinists of his generation and together with Swing Manouche he will be presenting an evening of authentic gypsy jazz. Daniel has played with many world greats such as Angelo De Barre, and Swing Manouche, now regarded as one of the best bands in the biz, are no slouches themselves. Expect a night of gypsy jazz standards, classic Django Reinhardt tunes and authentic originals. (Note: The Café are continuing to develop their very popular home cooked menus served from 9.30am-5.30pm (5pm Saturday), Tuesday-Saturday).
