onceupon18.jpg Attention under 5s who enjoy Xmas

Apparently Christmas is for kids so if you know of any then I’m sure they’d appreciate ‘Once Upon A Christmas’ which is booked in for an extended run at the Gala Theatre in Durham.

I was going to try and write this preview without using the word “magical!” (exclamation mark included) but I don’t feel that I’ve got it in me. Because this show has “Magical!” running right through it from top to bottom, and it promises to be a real delight. The gist? Once upon a Christmas there was a toyshop, the sort of shop where warm light flooded out onto the street outside, enticing and inviting children in to choose their favourite toy. But one year the lights are a little dimmer, the magic (that word again) a little weaker and inside there is a toymaker who is thinking about giving it all up. Luckily there are two – yup – magical creatures who won’t let that happen – not on their watch. Join them to see if they are successful on their Christmas mission. (Spoilers: they are.)

Once Upon A Christmas, Thursday 29 November-Sunday 30 December, Gala Theatre, Durham, various times, £7/£8 (family ticket: £28/£30). galadurham.co.uk
