laffs18.jpg Not for kids (but for kids)

Laffs4Kids is the adult only comedy show which aims to bring joy to thousands of kids who would otherwise go without a gift this Christmas. It’s coming to the City Hall for two shows in December.

Every year thousands of children in the north-east do not receive a present on Christmas Day. But that number has been drastically reduced in recent years because of the efforts of Jason Cook, one of the region’s top comics (pictured). For this year’s two shows at Newcastle’s City Hall (one matinee, one evening) audiences are only being charged a fiver to get in, but they are also being asked to bring along a toy, all of which will go to child who would otherwise have gone without. Cook will once again be hosting and although the full line-up – all performing free – is being kept under wraps for the time being you will not be disappointed. Previous shows have seen big hitters such as Chris Ramsey and Steffan Peddie taking to the stage, along with Lindisfarne’s Billy Mitchell, and if this year’s is even half as good as previous parties, then we’re in for a real treat.

Laffs4Kids, Sunday 16 December, City Hall, Newcastle, 2.30pm & 7.30pm, £5 (and don’t forget to bring a toy). Booking through: theatreroyal.co.uk
