There might be a bit of this
When it comes to all things soul-based, groove-based and generally dancefloor-driven, Smoove has been at the vanguard of all that has been good in the north-east for nigh on two decades. And as the producer and driving force behind one of Tyneside’s most beloved bands, Smoove and Turrell, he’s achieved notable success in the UK and right across Europe.
He retains an obsession for digging for vinyl, travelling the globe to find those hidden golden nuggets, and no doubt he’ll be hitting us up with some of his choicest cuts when he plays the next Dunston Soul Club, which is taking place at The Brewery Tap on Wellington Road. Also along for the ride will be Alex Johnson, Alex Butler and Lloyd Craft for this all-dayer which is kicking off at midday and running through until just before midnight. This one is really set to sizzle to the sounds of soul, funk, northern, disco and Motown – ie all the good stuff – so make sure that you get there early.
