maryannnov18.jpg Have yourself a Mary Ann Xmas

Mary Ann Rogers is one of the UK’s greatest wildlife artists and she is gearing up for the festive season by hosting three open weekends beginning in November.

What this picture of Mary Ann Rogers doesn’t show is her mantelpiece, which has had to be extended in recent years just to fit on all of the awards she has won for her work. She is a truly exceptional wildlife artist – her hares’ noses twitch, her hounds’ tails spring to attention – and she’s been beavering away this autumn to capture the world around her for this latest round of open days. These weekends are always a real treat and give you the chance to not only purchase original MA Rogers paintings and prints but also a plethora of other stuff her work adorns from cosmetic bags (featuring running hares, hounds, pheasants or chickens) to huge serving dishes. Her work can also be found on calendars, diaries, cards, hip flasks, cushions, bags and more. Guests also selling their wares this year will be Linden Craven silver jewellery, Carlton Baskets and Northumbrian Flowers and Wreaths. Mary Ann will also be selling Cocoba Chocolate, including their famous drinking chocolate and stirring spoon for calorie-laden luxury. (Mmm… And as everyone knows, Christmas calories simply don’t count.)

Mary Ann Rogers Open Weekends: Friday 23-Sunday 25 November; Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 December; Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 December. 11am-5pm. Mary Ann Rogers Gallery, West Woodburn, Hexham, NE48 2SE. More info: marogers.com
