exposed18.jpg Do you know your art from your elbow?

There are boobs, moobs and bums galore at the Laing Art Gallery’s latest exhibition ‘Exposed: The Naked Portrait’. Hooray!

Stop sniggering at the back. The human body is a beautiful thing and you’ll find over eighty of them at ‘Exposed: The Naked Portrait’, with many drawn from the world of rock and pop, sport, fashion, art, TV, film and theatre. Also casting their underpants to the four winds will be those who have been involved in infamous liaisons, as well as writers and deep thinkers (because who doesn’t want to see a philosopher’s bits, right?). It will include photographs, paintings, drawings, prints and film from the National Portrait Gallery Collection with pieces from David Hockney, Annie Leibovitz, Linda McCartney, Robert Mapplethorpe, David Bailey, Mario Testino, Cecil Beaton and oodles more. There are not many avenues for us to explore naked people these days, so don’t pass up this rare opportunity.
