hearthstillwaters.jpg This is your Winter Fair alert

There’s nothing that says “the festive season is rapidly approaching” like The Hearth Arts Centre’s ‘Winter Fair and Open Studios’ event, which takes place over one glorious weekend in November.

Oh! We’ve really fallen in love with the work of Rebecca Vincent (that’s her ‘Still Waters Run Deep’ pictured). It’s just gorgeous and she’s just one of the artists who will at this special weekend in Horsley. The artists are an integral part of The Hearth, and they include a watercolourist, printmakers, textile artists, ceramicists and jewellers. Many exhibit throughout the UK and beyond, some run classes in their studios or in the Hearth Hall, and their work will be available to view and buy over this Saturday and Sunday. The Open Studios Weekend takes place twice a year, with invited artists and makers chosen for the quality of their work. At the Winter Fair the emphasis is on offering visitors the opportunity to do their Christmas shopping in a warm and convivial atmosphere with invited stallholders selling handmade soaps and cosmetics, hand woven scarves, local honeys, mosaics, linocuts of Northumbrian landscapes and more. There will also be teas, coffees, home-baked cakes, scones, light lunches and, on Sunday, traditional roasts. Sold!
