ravertots18.jpg Hang on! He’s never over 18!

Raver Tots is an unfeasibly popular family rave where kids and grown-ups can hit the dancefloor together. It’s coming to Middlesbrough this October. Oh crikey.

Dig beneath Dante’s ninth circle of hell and you’ll probably find Raver Tots. Or maybe that’s just me projecting my general hatred of kids onto this club night (why do children have to be so loud? Why do they always want something?). But when I say “club night” I actually mean “club afternoon”, because these events – which are incredibly popular – run from 2-4pm and have attracted some of the UK’s biggest DJs including Artful Dodger and Brandon Block. The bonkersness in Boro will be presided over by the estimable DJ Slipmatt, and as well as plenty of big tunes (played at a safe level) there will be UV face painting, glow sticks, confetti and bubbles, balloons, buggy park and more. These sessions regularly attract up to 1500 people (if you can call children people) so if you manage to purloin a child from somewhere (hey, it may even be your own) then why not see what all the fuss is about and check it out. What’s the worst that can happen?
