suggs18.jpg A life in the realm of Madness

Suggs, the frontman with Madness, is heading to Durham this month to talk (and sing) about his career in one of the UK’s greatest ever bands.

I wonder if Suggs is going to reveal how, physically, he’s barely changed since Madness first troubled the charts at the back end of the 1970s. Just look at him! He must have an amazing moisturiser! His first solo show – My Life Story – was a roaring success, in which he detailed various aspects of his upbringing and rise with Madness. This time he’ll be talking about his surreal life in the band: getting vertigo on the roof of Buckingham Palace; nearly blowing the closing ceremony of the Olympics; all the embarrassing Glastonbury stuff. With help from Deano, his trusty pianist, he’ll be telling his story in words and music including some Madness classics, as well as a couple of self-penned songs.
