prideradiooct.jpg Good morning my lovelies

You can now hear the north-east’s only dedicated LGBT+ radio station, Pride Radio, on FM. Fancy that!

Pride Radio has been a huge – scratch that – HUGE success since it launched, with people right around the world listening via the internet. But the good folk of Newcastle, Gateshead, South East Northumberland, Sunderland North, South Tyneside and North Tyneside can now listen to the station on 98.2FM, too. The station is aimed at – although not exclusive to – the LGBT community, and strives to bring people together by promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity (along with plenty of banter about cats and dogs and the chance to win Kylie tickets). And it’s a great place to hear some of the region’s top broadcasting talent including TV’s Peter Darrant (pictured) and Mel Crawford, Alex Roland and Stu Smith, formerly of Metro Radio, and Century Radio fave Jonathan Morrell. Morrell is also the Chair of the Pride Community Network, and he commented: “The launch of this station on FM is the culmination of eight years’ work by a dedicated group of volunteers from the LGBT community. We believe the station will help to unite LGBT people across the north-east and help them get the most out of life in the region.”

Pride Radio broadcasts 24-hours a day from 89.2FM and prideradio.co.uk
