These boots were made for rockin’
Everyone remembers their first time. Stepping out of the house clad in my very first pair of Dr. Martens, was, for me, a rite of passage more memorable than the first time that I had sex (having said that, last week’s repeat of The Chase was more memorable than the first time I had sex. That was 30 seconds that I’ll never get back – cheers Andrew).
Anyway. Dr. Martens is one of the true icons of UK fashion and they continue to issue some incredible footwear, including, earlier this year, some pairs of boots that paid homage to Joy Division and New Order. Their latest collection has been inspired by rock & roll, which, let’s face it, is a very Dr. Martens thing to be inspired by. I particularly like their 8-eye boot, in black or white, which features rockabilly-inspired pyramid studding, skulls, flames and British flag; and the update on their 3-eye silhouette, mixing a smooth leather finish with studded embellishments. Completing the range are skull bags, rockabilly belts and t-shirts, and all of it is more thrilling than having sex with Andrew.
