gosforthbeer18.jpg Gosforth Beer Festival gets big

In early August Gosforth Civic Theatre are hosting their biggest beer festival yet with three days of craft beer, street food and some incredible live acts.

Well this looks just splendid. Beer lovers can expect to see old favourites and new releases from some of the best local and national breweries around including the likes of Northern Alchemy, Magic Rock, Box Social, Wild Beer and plenty more besides. Food will be served up across the weekend from Tyneside’s food powerhouses Scream for Pizza and Meat:Stack – alongside exciting newcomer Cubanos – with each taking one day of the festival in turn. Entertainment this year is truly exceptional with DJ Tim McVicar kicking things off on the Friday with a funk, soul and disco set. On Saturday NARC. have curated a night of real quality featuring Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra (pictured – FYI: amazing), Behold a Pale Horse (FYI: amazing) and Twist Helix (FYI: amazing). Sunday sees more local artists taking to the stage (including acoustic duo FIKA and The Phil Davids Good Times Band) and you’ll also get the chance to step back in time for some retro video game action. And the cover charge? Absolutely nowt.
