summeratomic.jpg Summer’s here! Free gigs out!

The South Tyneside Festival is running throughout the summer with the centrepiece being the free (FREE!) gigs held each Sunday in July at Bents Park featuring a whole bunch of crowd-pleasing poppers.

And the whole caboodle is kicking off with Pixie Lott (Sunday 8 July) who has racked up plenty of hits in her time including All About TonightMama Do and Boys & Girls. She will be joined by former JLS star Aston Merrygold and 90s favourites Phats & Small, the dance duo who set clubs afire with tracks such as Turn Around. Next up will be British boy band The Vamps (Sunday 15 July) who are heading to South Shields following their huge arena tour in the UK and Europe. Joining them will be X-Factor semi-finalists The Cutkelvins, with further support to be announced. Headlining the next afternoon will be those real festival favourites Scouting for Girls (Sunday 22 July) who’ll be knocking out all of their biggies. Joining them will by The Fizz, which features three members of the original Bucks Fizz, and Roachford who will no doubt be bringing his Cuddly Toy. There’s a double headliner on the final Sunday on the month featuring Heather Small and Atomic Kitten (pictured). Small was the soulful voice of M People and known for tracks such as Moving On UpOne Night in Heaven and Search for the Hero. Atomic Kitten also have a string of hits to their name including Feels So GoodLadies Night and The Tide is High. Support will arrive in the shape of multi-Brit and Mobo award-winning artist Lemar and County Durham’s Sam Lavery who appeared on the X-Factor in 2016.
