uglyduckling18.jpg Hello Ducky!

Northern Ballet’s original pioneering dance piece for children and their families Ugly Duckling will be taking flight in Middlesbrough, Durham and Berwick throughout May.

What do children really love (besides ruining your carpet, your settee and, let’s face it, your life)? They love being enchanted, and this spring there is nothing, simply nothing, that will enchant them more than the latest in this series of award-winning dance pieces for children from Northern Ballet. It’s based on the famous Hans Christian Anderson fairytale and tells of a lonely duckling, ignored by those around her, who think she is too ugly to fit in (not based on a true story). The child-friendly, 40-minute, ballet follows her journey as she comes to learn that she was, hey, beautiful all along. It has been created especially for children and their families to experience live dance, music and theatre together, and, yes, is packing enough enchantment to enrapture every child.
