Shanti Bee is a wellness space based in South Heaton that offers complementary health therapies and alternative health activities at very affordable rates.

Shanti Bee began as a project to provide low cost massage but has now blossomed into a collective of experienced health practitioners offering a timetable of weekly activities, health therapy sessions, collaborative weekend workshops and community projects. Its primary aim is supporting the wellbeing of those experiencing, or at the risk of, mental health illness and social exclusion. Rosie Mason, Director: “Complementary and alternative health is a highly effective means for managing physical and mental wellbeing. Massage, therapies and yoga don’t need to be seen as luxury items. Wellbeing is about long term lifestyle choices that fit into your agenda and not break the bank.” Yoga, knitting, gardening, massage, dance, surf and baby massage are just some of the activities you can take part in at the centre and all activities are low cost or priced on a sliding scale meaning you pay what you can afford. There are also free community activities and a community kitchen that opens alongside their social events. Find out more from the website below.
