bridgetchristie18.jpg Christ(ie) on a bike!

Here’s a nice pic of comedian Bridget Christie on her beloved motorbike. She’s currently touring her latest show ‘What Now?’ and will be vrooming into Durham’s Gala Theatre this April (and Newcastle in June). Hooray! (Legal note: we’re not sure if it’s her bike, beloved or otherwise, or, indeed, if she even likes them.)

Bridget Christie has long been one of the UK’s greatest and most innovative stand-up comics, a fact that was stamped in triplicate with her bravura ‘Because You Demanded It’ show, written during the white-fury of the Brexit result, which subsequently sold out its 21-night run at the Leicester Square Theatre and country-wide tour. Naturally there’s been plenty of stuff that’s happened since Brexit to get her gnashers into (hello Trump, environmental catastrophe and the end of the world!) but she’ll also be asking if all of this rolling news is affecting our ability to enjoy the simpler things in life: baking, gardening and autoerotic asphyxiation. We’ve not yet caught notices on this new show but if they’re anything like what she received for her last outing (“The most electrifying comedy I’ve yet seen on the Fringe” – The Guardian; “It’s going to be hard to do justice to just how brilliant this show it” – The Scotsman), then we’re in for a real treat.
