Despite once being nominated for a Mercury Prize a good number of years ago, Turin Breaks have never really done an Elbow and gained the wider recognition that they deserve. Because since their formation, nearly 20 years ago now, they’ve quietly gone about their business of releasing some of the most arresting albums around and their latest is right up there with their best. It’s not afraid to get a bit jaunty on our asses, marrying sunny vibes (occasionally calling to mind Simon and Garfunkel) with social and emotional concerns. They even get a real indie-pop wiggle on with tracks such as Would You Be Mine, which adds lovely electronic textures to their palette.
