radioset18.jpg Foundations will be rocked

Rock The Foundation is a night of live music featuring a super stellar line-up of local bands who are all raising money for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

When I cast an eye over many charity gigs I often think: “Hey! Great cause! But I’d rather watch three men shouting into a bucket then check out that line-up.” Not so in this case. It’s set to feature Bob Douglass & The Frequency who we frothed about last year with their rollicking, hook-laden, indie-pop. The band were back in the studio in December and they should have new stuff out in the spring. Our breaths = baited. Another band we’ve previously ruffled the collective head of are The Radio Set (pictured). They make chrome-gleam pop that surfs the kind of groovy basslines that are set to: Stunning. Also on the bill are The Brick Thieves (six piece playing original Americana/roots tunes) and Loaded (knocking out classic indie-rock anthems from the, yep, 1990s). So then: a great cause AND a great line-up. The planets have truly aligned for this gig.
