The wonderful Sunderland Shorts Film Festival are looking for more volunteers to help with the build-up and running of their next event, which is taking place from 3-5 May.

Sunderland Shorts has established itself over the last couple of years as one of the most imaginative (and friendly) festivals in the north-east. For their 2018 event they’re aiming for eight or nine screenings, each featuring short films centred around a particularly genre: horror, comedy, animation etc. The selection will be drawn from the best of the many international submissions they receive, as well as films the organisers have sought out. In addition, there will be some special screenings drawn from the work of recent graduates.

For 2018, they have new venues on board and they need friendly faces to welcome and look after travelling filmmakers, meet and greet filmgoers, help prepare screening spaces, and generally spread the word about the festival. Above all, they want people to help Sunderland Shorts maintain its friendly reputation. Also, if you fancy being a bit more strategic, they would welcome more heads on the festival’s organising team. Volunteers get to see all films, a lunch allowance, and the chance to hang out with some inspiring people.
