An array of top local stand-ups are getting together for a special night in Newcastle in order to raise money for a homeless charity.

If your December is as fraught as mine, then why not take some time out and treat yourself to a tip-top night of comedy for only five quid. Some of Tyneside’s top talents will be appearing including Mike Milligan (pictured), “homeless sex god” George Zach, and super nerd Neil Harris, with the event hosted by UK Pun Championship runner-up Julian Lee.

It’s all in aid of the Homeless Support Stand-Up Project, the brainchild of north-west funnywoman Lyndsey Davies, which consists of a nationwide series of gigs taking place between the 13-15 December. The Newcastle leg is being held at the very lovely Arch 2 venue in Ouseburn, which can be found on the bank that runs down from The Tanners pub to The Ship and The Cluny. It’s a smashing new addition to the area’s collection of cool joints serving food and beer, and if you’ve not yet sampled its delights, then this night is the perfect opportunity. And you’ll be exercising both your socially aware muscles and your giggle glands, so everyone’s a winner.
