woodxmas.jpg Wood ya? Could ya? Should ya?

The frankly magnificent enterprise that is Newcastle Wood is holding a winter market on Saturday 9 December. (Note: Ya could; and ya should).

Do you respect wood? It’s a question that Larry David famously asked in his cult US sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm, and it’s a question that Newcastle Wood never has any trouble in answering. They more than respect wood; they love wood, as anyone who has been to any of their previous shindigs will testify. And their Christmas knees-up looks set to be both GIFT and FUN central with the emphasis on organic, fair trade, reclaimed and ethically sourced produce.

Expect new offerings from in-house creatives Zanna Designs, Fada Foods & The Print Room along with food (hooray!), beer (hooray!), arts (hooray!), crafts (hooray!) and music (hooray!), as well as stuff from established and up and coming northern traders.

The enterprise is known for recycling timber and offering volunteering and training opportunities to local people, as well as running a waste wood collection service, timber yard, carpentry workshop and retail space. It truly is the most wood-erful time of the year.
