Alphabetti Theatre are staging a series of Christmas cabaret nights featuring three Christmas crackers from three brilliant writers.

Alphabetti Theatre opening up their new home in Newcastle has been one of the real cultural success stories of the year, with a series of imaginative productions that have wowed audiences. And if you’re looking for a real treat in the days running up to Christmas – of a none “It’s behind you!” nature - then you should check out their Christmas cabaret featuring three festive tales: A Very Mediocre Christmas by Gary Kitching (no strong feelings either way – that’s not how you should feel about Christmas, especially when you are Santa); Poundshop Giftwrap by Louise Taylor (6am Christmas morning and Tina’s just polished off a bottle of Bucks Fizz on her way home from the night shift – hope you’re ready to receive her presents…); and A Christmas Carol by Steve Byron (For Carol, Christmas has to be perfect…). And, hey, if you buy your tickets in advance then you can expect to be feasting on a lovely mince pie on arrival. Bonus!

Alphabetti Christmas Cabaret, Tuesday 19-Saturday 23 December, Alphabetti Theatre, St James Boulevard, Newcastle, 7.30pm, £8/£6 conc. alphabettitheatre.co.uk
