This bunch were recipients of our coveted Single of the Month slot last year (it’s not that coveted – ed.) and they’ve continued their upward curve in 2017 with a clutch of sterling releases. Have you let them into your life yet?

Point of order! The press release for The Old Pink House’s latest single, Neck Deep, begins: “Newcastle trio The Old Pink House have been causing a stir locally…” Trio! TRIO! I count at least four of them in their latest press picture. No matter! Three-piece or four-piece, what’s certain is the band continue to beguile and delight us with the kind of indie-pop that rings all of my “Time To Get Giddy” bells. Neck Deep is just as sure footed as previous releases with its swirling, chiming riffs, melt in the mouth melody, and the kind of delicious vocals that you can really take to the bank. The band have received significant support from Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart at Radio 1, have supported the likes of Anteros and The Amazons, and also appeared on the bill of Twisterella and Meet the North. In short: they are the real deal and if you like guitar-pop that shimmers with an inner glow then it’s high time you got in the Pink.
