Well hello, pussy
I expect Donald Trump didn’t think, when he called Hilary Clinton a “nasty women” during the presidential debates, he would unleash a worldwide Nasty Women artistic movement that would raise thousands of dollars, pounds and whatever for women’s charities. It began in January with a huge exhibition in New York before the movement spread worldwide, including here in the north-east when the Nasty Women Newcastle exhibition attracted over 2,500 visitors to their April show, raising £3000 for local women’s and LGBTQ+ charities. Now the same group, going under the Nasty Women North East banner, are set to hold an even bigger exhibition as well as their first ever Nasty Women conference which will feature a keynote address from Roxanne Jackson, founder of the original NYC exhibition. Gonna be good.
Nasty Women North East, preview Friday 17 November (6.30-8.30pm) then runs to 30 November, Byker Community Centre, Headlam Street, Newcastle. More info: facebook.com/nastywomennortheast. The conference is on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 November. Buy tickets from: lladykitt.com/nastywomen-tickets
