Purple Disco Machine
The Dresden born Purple Disco Machine (his mother calls him Tino Piontek) has been one of the chief flag wavers for the fruitier end of house for seven or eight years now, and he’s having enormous fun on his debut album which has more sheen that the satin hot-pants stretched across Donna Summer’s swirling 1978 backside. His disco credentials are slapped on the counter with the Sylvester sampling Body Funk, while elsewhere he harnesses the vocals of Durham’s Karen Harding, CeeLo Green, Kool Keith, and others, for an melange of funk and boogie that is utterly infectious. Fabulous.
